Sleeping bags - my experience

I must confess: I have become "addicted" to down sleeping bags. The reason is simply the weight to insulation ratio. Or insulation to weight ratio. Even if the risk or rain - even for days - is always present in Iceland the advantages of carrying up to a kilo less silence the counterarguments of synthetic-insulated sleeping bags keep their insulation when damp/wet. My Fjällraven and my REI down-sleeping bags are less than a kilo each and they keep me warm even if temperatures are well below 0 Centigrade. And they pack down to next to nothing.

They have been with me abroad - and I have actually never thought that a synthetic sleeping bag would have served me equally well or better than my down bag . . .
