There is so much to say .

Each of us sees the world from our own, often narrow point of view. As for myself, I think I wasn´t able to fully understand and enjoy the unique environments that we have here in Iceland - until I had done some hiking / backpacking tours in other parts of the world.

This opinion of mine does not state, that I am in any way more able than the average John Doe to "judge" what I see and experience. And - I have no companies or individuals "supporting" me. The gear I use is the gear which I have bought and paid full price for - so nothing is limiting my freedom of speech. Meaning, that what I have to say is simply my vision on things and matters - and in no way to be taken more seriously than as such. It is not "right" or "wrong". I hope that my reflections can be of some help for like-minded-people.

And - the background photo shows where 40°C hot water comes out of the ground (where the green/yellow algea is). Perfect for bathing. If you need to cool off, then you just lay down for a while in the river - which originates from hundreds of wells in the lava field ca. 1 - 1.5 km away. Fresh and chilly, clear drinking water. If you think you can manage on your own, go check "my" trails on wikiloc.com. This pool is on the Djupa-Skaftafell trail and Laki-Skaftafell trail.
