in Iceland

Some people dream of the open, untouched backcountry of Iceland

 My roots are there.

Don´t let a Polish, French, English or German individual tell you what Iceland, the nature and the nation stands for.

Even if they have read all the brochures very thoroughly and can tell you all kinds of hear/say "facts".

Says a proud descendant of Snorri Sturluson (author of Heimskringla), Egill Skalla-Grímsson, (settler of Borgarfjordur), Ingolfr Arnarson, (officially the first settler in Iceland), Olaf "white" Ingjaldsson, king (warlord) of Dublin and other renowned individuals of Icelandic history - and a descendant of Harald "hildistönn" (wartooth) Hræreksson (king of Denmark), Magnús "berfættr" (barefoot) king of Norway, Olaf "trétegla" (treecarver) Ingjaldsson, king of Sweden, Ráðbarðr (Rathbarth,  king of Gardariki (725-750, Kievan Rus' state), Mar Hunrodarson (leader of the Varangians in Constantinopel ca. 1035) - just to name a few :-)

Testimonials

Bryn is an excellent guide and outdoorsman and he's fun to travel with.  He knows tons of entertaining Icelandic history, geology, plants, and lore.  As a local guide, he knows the hidden gems that most tourists won't ever hear about (and he can get you there and back, safely).

Kyle C., (USA) traveled with Brynjolfur in 2014

Bryn was an amazing guide! I had previously lived in Iceland for over 3 years and thought that I had travelled to every corner of this amazing country. I was mistaken. Bryn led our group on a trek from Nupstaður to Skaftafell via Grænalón and across the glacier. Bryn reviewed safe glacier travel techniques and successfully led the group across a raging river near Grænalón. The scenery was amazing and Bryn knew exactly where to lead the group to get the best views and most amazing camping locations. The next time I am looking for an adventure off the beaten path in Iceland, Bryn will be my first call! Mjög mikið takk Brynjolfur!!
